Rachel O'Connor • Managing Director

Rachel is an impressive team leader with a distinctive, pragmatic approach to communications. She has an absolute belief in the power of PR as a critical business tool in 21 Century.

Before founding siren, Rachel held senior positions at Weber Shandwick and Hill & Knowlton. She has driven joined-up communications for many leading household names in addition to working for businesses of almost every shape and size. Rachel has recently taken on the role of vice chairman for the PRCA’s travel and tourism group.

Rachel’s experience spans leisure, retail and travel. She has developed and driven campaigns: BA, Virgin Atlantic, Kellogg’s, Vauxhall, Hunter Wellingtons and the Queen’s Jubilee. Rachel enjoys gardening and playing with her two boys!

Sarah Rathbone • Associate Director

Sarah has played a major part in siren’s growth, working with Rachel O'Connor since she joined the company in 2002 from a specialist travel and tourism consultancy.

With impeccable account servicing skills and a refreshingly down-to earth attitude, Sarah consistently delivers results for her clients and inspiration for her team. Sarah was identified as one of PR Week’s top 29 under 29 in 2008, an accolade that the whole team and several of Sarah’s clients supported.

In her free time, Sarah likes to learn a lingo. She loves stomping on Hampstead Heath in her wellies, doing a local pub quiz and watching live music gigs.

James Watts • Group Account Director

James joined siren in 2007, bringing with him over 8 years experience gained across both travel and FMCG sectors. Whilst at tour operating leader Thomson/TUI Travel James gained a useful insight into both sides of the travel world - from the glamour of destination launches to the fraught world of crisis management in the form of the Sharm el Sheik bombing and Asian tsunami. Working at consumer goods giant Unilever helped James build a broad perspective of account handling from the client perspective.

At siren James has been responsible for the implementation of an impressive range of campaigns, including the reopening of Guoman Hotels' five-star flagship property The Royal Horseguards. In his free time, James enjoys scaling new heights, marathon running and travelling as much as work will permit!

Neal Baldwin • Head of News

Neal is siren’s Head of News who adds creative writing nous and a realistic news perspective to the siren team.

After serving an old-fashioned newspaper apprenticeship on weekly and regional titles, Neal worked for London’s premier news agency on a string of major exclusives as well as shifting on The Sun, Mail on Sunday and Sunday Times.

He’s spent the last 12 years specialising in the travel business, and has excellent contacts across the industry through time spent as both chief sub-editor and deputy editor on leading trade title Travel Weekly.

Outside of work he buys and sells modernist furniture and dreams of seeing Brentford FC make the Premier League.
