A strengthened senior team for Siren
— Posted Thursday 17th June 2010 by Rachel O'Connor under Team siren
Siren is delighted to announce that it has created a new board structure and recruited two new non-executive directors as part of the company's drive to widen its service offering and strengthen communications expertise on offer to its clients in the travel, leisure and hospitality sectors.
The creation of the non executive advisory board is a 'first' for Siren and comes in our eighth year of trading. This board has the sole purpose of supporting the business’ continued development and drive to become a leading PR and Communications agency in the travel sector.
We have formalised the roles of two long standing supporters of Siren, Charles Anson and Fiona Gaiger, both of whom have been involved with the business for several years. They now become part of Siren’s non executive team. Charles Anson will continue to offer the management team client and business counsel whilst also working with key clients at communications director level.
Planning Director
Fiona Gaiger brings over 20 years of FMCG brand marketing and communications experience at board level. As Siren’s Planning Director, Fiona will create and champion the planning function for clients to allow us to deliver even more robust and business focused plans for action. Importantly, Fiona will work with the team to extend Siren’s communications capabilities to offer a broader Marcomms service, whilst providing Rachel with senior, agency experience support needed to enable Siren to continue to deliver outstanding client service and client business results.
Non-Executive Advisory Board
We are delighted to announce that Kristina Wallen, of HARP wallen Executive Recruitment, and Graham McKenzie, from Omni Tourism have joined Siren’s non executive board from June 1st 2010. Both roles have been developed to deepen Siren’s travel sector knowledge, in addition to supporting the client facing teams in the development and delivery of client campaigns and services to meet the changing and evolving communications needs of the travel industry.
Kristina Wallen will provide Siren’s board with access to her vast knowledge and experience of working as one of the industry’s most reputable recruitment consultants. Kristina’s track record of providing services to most of the industry’s best known brands for the last 20 years gives her a unique perspective on the industry, the companies involved and the people who work in it. Kristina’s observations around the industry’s changing face and businesses’ communications needs will be invaluable to Siren.
A little known fact about Kristina is that she spent five years working at PR firm Charles Barker. This gave her a great insight into the working of PR and of agency life. Kristina’s experience of building and running her own highly successful business will add significantly to Siren’s board. Her professionalism, outstanding focus on client service, integrity and passion for the business of travel is already having a positive impact on the team.
Graham McKenzie is the founder of Omni Tourism, and is best known to the industry as Travelmole.com’s publisher. He has been the catalyst behind the online publication’s success worldwide in the last ten years. In addition to Omni Tourism, Graham is a board director of Responsibletravel.com and is a regular speaker at conferences around the world on his specialist subjects – social media, online distribution, technology and sustainable business and tourism. Graham’s experience includes setting up, growing and selling Integra Systems UK, one of the leading destination management systems worldwide.
His enthusiasm for business and travel will be a great asset for the team at Siren to draw upon. He brings extensive knowledge, with a particular passion and understanding of the changing face of media online. Graham’s role at Siren is to share his knowledge and passion for online communications, business, making money, sustainable tourism and doing things differently. All this, as well as encouraging Siren’s growing talent pool to become more entrepreneurial in outlook.
